Short eared owl?

I went for a drive to the wildlife reserve, had seen recent photos that the Great Horned owl had her owlets in the tree cavity by the road.  They were not out when I went by.  A little ways out of the woods in the open field I spotted this owl.  I think it is a short eared, but not sure.  I know it does not looked like the barred owl or the great horned.  I wish it had not been right up against the grasses, but nothing I could change there.
