Red machine - or is it?

Today's Wide on Wednesday theme is 'machinery'. Thanks BobsBlips for hosting. 

I consulted The Prof about my blip of our apple corer/peeler. "Aahhh' she said, 'but is it a machine?'. Which is a very proffy kind of thing to say. Although, I have to admit, I too had wondered about that. So, of course, I googled it. And learned that a machine is an apparatus using mechanical power and having several parts, each with a definite function and together performing a particular task. Sounds OK to me.
