The Hidden Chapel

A walk in the snow to The Hidden Chapel in Glen Prosen with Al and Lachie and Zara - my cousin's spaniel who I am dogsitting this weekend. Al had wanted to visit this place for years and it was very atmospheric. The building is surrounded by yew trees which lends a magical feeling to it - you really do get the sense that this is a special place. Inside stand several headstones and today in the snow these old stones looked striking.

We sat outside the chapel afterwards, in peace and quiet, admiring what we could see around us and attempting to knock back a Finnish liquorice drink that I'd been given as a present last summer. It looked like crude oil but I think crude oil would probably have tasted nicer. I dumped a handful of snow in it to turn it into a slush but that didn't improve it.
