Double spectacular start
There was the, now almost inevitable, spectacular start from Little Dog. We aren’t quite sure what time it was because the clocks have gone forward and it’s a good idea to try not to worry about the sleep disturbance. We then dozed for the really spectacular start…
…an exquisite tour of the Langdales on, mostly, tiny backroads - up to Grasmere around to Rydal, to Elterwater, Little Langdales and Blea Tarn. The blue sky and still air was gorgeous and not too cold - and of course, the mountain, lakes and stone cottage backdrops were delightful. Enough length to feel like you’ve had a good ride, enough height gain for that pleasantly jaded feeling. Rich has now gone to do the same route, I’ve had a potter round the block with Little Dog and, with a bit of food inside me, now feel a touch sleepy.
