Hiya!
Fell of the 'diet day' bandwagon last night. Salt'n'sweet popcorn was mentioned... There was a big bag in the cupboard... I read the bag - proclaimed in big lettering was the legend:
'Only 100 calories per serving!'
That sounds just right for a treat on a diet day! A serving, to me, and to most folk, would be a big bag. A whole 200g big bag.
In teensy tiny writing was the other - less well known - legend,
'One serving is 19g'.
19gm of popcorn must be about a handful. That, in no way, could be recognised as a serving. Not exactly false advertising, but pretty sneaky. We only had 5 servings each.
Popped to Uncle A this morning to take him shopping. Well, he went for a haircut and I did his shopping. I'm in and out of the supermarket in about 7 minutes flat! Then I did some ironing and got the bus to the other side of the Meadows, from whence to walk back and take some photos. I know the blossom won't last long.
The temperature must have been about mid/high teens, if you were out of the wind. In the wind, it felt like low teens. I think that's why most folk either lie down to keep out of the breeze or run around to keep warm. Still, it's lovely to see everyone sitting out in the cafes - what a different place this would be if we had consistent decent weather.
Mind you, on the other hand, because we really really appreciated a nice day when it comes, everyone piles out and makes the most of it.
I really liked this scene of mum and toddler reading a book together. The old pram had come from the nearby Pavilion Cafe.
On the bus was a toddler shouting, 'Hiya!!' to everyone. That, and the blossom, made my day!
