Model weekend

Following yesterday’s shenanigans, I had completely forgotten about the clocks going forward, so believed that I had actually slept through to actual 8 o’clock as opposed to the new 8 o’clock.

This still gave me a little time with m’boy this morning, who came up to see me after he’d woken up and hugged me so tight, I thought I was about to pop! I caught up on some blips and he caught up on some screen time before we sat and had our breakfast together and talked about our day yesterday. All too soon it was time for him to go back to his mum’s place and as the tiredness caught up with him, unfortunately he got a little upset and said he didn’t want to go back and wanted to stay here with me. If the truth be known, I didn’t want to send him back either and would happily have spent the day hanging out with him again. However, it was his mother’s weekend that we were eating into, and so it was only fair that he spend some down time with her.

Following drop off, I busied myself with some chores and a little wander into town before heading off to spend a couple of hours with LadyV (who was buzzing after a particularly good morning celebrating her church’s first birthday) for a walk along the prom. It was quite a bracing wind as we made our way along, but we soon found a bench out of the breeze and just sat for a little while chatting and listening to the water lap at the shore.

A further short wander later and we found ourselves in a charming little church-adjacent community garden, which had all sorts of knick-knacks and doo-dads scattered throughout. Today’s blip is my favourite one, which is a model of the Williamson Park Memorial.

There was time for hot chocolate and cake back at LadyV’s and we also booked in a little break for ourselves next month as well as trading furniture (she’s taking a sideboard of mine I no longer want and she’s buying me a lamps as payment), and then I headed back up to Kendal and spent the afternoon/evening dozing and watching the light fade from the sofa’s new position in the back room.

Where did that weekend go?!
