Knowing With Whom We Contend.......
We gathered this morning at FBC to lift our voices in praise and worship of our omnipotent God who has imparted to us the one true faith, so that we may become His children. The choir, orchestra, and all our talented accompanists followed the opening congregational song with a joyful anthem "Glorious Name". After more corporate worship in song, Pastor Wes took us back to Jude 4-16. He reminded us that we have learned who we are and Whose we are and that last week we were urged to contend earnestly for the faith that Jesus paid for with His own blood. This week he warned us about those we are contending with and where the danger really lies. We need to recognize the reality of infiltrators, those who take the scriptures and tweak it and twist it to suit their own desires. We should also recognize the reality of their destruction because of their sin. Pastor Wes gave us examples from the Bible and urged us to remember that because the Holy Spirit lives in those of us who are believers, He can help us to remember what is right, when we hear someone saying something that sounds good , but doesn't truly line up with what God has already given us very clear direction on in the Bible. Pastor Wes had much more to say about how to know with whom we are to contend for the faith, which you can see on the live-stream....Oh, and the One Million Sent picture in the collage is a reminder of what our students learned at their retreat this weekend as they were equipped and challenged to share their faith with those in their everyday lives.........
