American Goldfinch

Has arrived at our bird feeders. Still partly in winter plumage. My friend in Minnesota still hasn't seen the goldfinch or Robins in their garden yet and so much further south than us! Went down with husband to the ranch in the morning and walked the dogs down there while he did a thorough check of the calving heifers. I saw 3 swans fly over first swans I've seen this year. When we got back we began building nest boxes for birds. We got one built so far and have a better idea of how to build some more. Learning as we go!
