The Sudden LLama

I was surprised to see this llama suddenly appear on the dunes.
"Wise llama," I said, "Sage of the East, why have you come to this lonely Scottish isle?"
"No, son," he said, " you're confusing me, a 'llama', two els, a hoofed ruminant of South America, with a 'lama', one el, a Buddhist priest of Tibet or Nepal."
"So how come you can speak? And English at that, and not say, Spanish, Portuguese, or some Incan or Aztec tongue?"
"That's a long story," he said. And it was. Fortunately, I had the makings of some damn fine coffee with me.
