Avenue Daniel Lesueur
Nice day today, but very busy. I went to a talk in the morning at the annual meeting of the Association des Amis de Daniel Lesueur. Lesueur (Jeanne Loiseau) is a writer I am interested in, a contemporary and colleague of Cladel and I really wanted to hear the talk given to the Association by Diana Holmes, whose work I admire. It was a great talk, nice to see Diana and interesting to meet the other members of the Association. Most of them are neighbours who live on rue Daniel Lesueur, which, luckily for the posterity of the author, happens to be in quite a chic dead-end street in the 7th arr. The association has been working on popularizing her writing, particularly through the creation of a comprehensive website devoted to her work. The meeting was very kindly hosted by some of the members in their apartment. After that, J and I cooked and prepared to have some friends for dinner in the evening. That was lovely and we had lots of fun.
