Stone Mountain
The mountain is carved with a somewhat controversial sculpture of confederate leaders Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States and generals Robert E Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. The monument was started in the 1910s but was only completed in 1972. The park surrounding the mountain is a great place to visit although we went towards the end of the day when it was quiet and the attractions had shut, hopefully we can go back later in our trip and go to the top of the mountain on the cable car.
We came here in October 2019 for the Halloween tour when I posted my 500th blip! https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2631706649047336605
