To Goldly Go

...Where No Fish Has Gone Before.

Today's blip is dedicated to one of two goldfish, Goldy, who sadly passed away the weekend before last.

We popped home for the evening & had a delicious homemade quiche meal. It also gave us the opportunity to pay our respects to old Goldy who was making his final swim. Mum had kindly buried him in the garden amongst the spring bluebells with a wooden 'X' to mark the spot. Thanks for looking after him Ma.

Now, I might not ordinarily document the passing of a goldfish, but I think Goldy was a special one - he was a few months shy of being 11 years old! Which I think is quite remarkeable. He had been blind for some time & lost all his original 'gold' scales, but I think it was a good innings for Goldy!

His old friend Bubbles is now our only supper swimmer, & having already conquered his eleventh year in the tank, he seemed in his usual buoyant mood!

Bubbles is surely deserving of his own blip too now... we'll sea!
