A new year

To celebrate the Equinox, our first wedding anniversary and the start of a new year, we went to see the cherry blossom at D's old workplace. We were a little pre-emptive as most of the cherry trees only just had buds, to say nothing of flowers. But we had a lovely long walk around the gardens and along a forest trail, a light misty drizzle floating in the air. The café there does amazing cake so of course we stopped for lunch and I had a huge piece of rainbow cake (channeling my inner child who never grew up!). In the evening we played a new board game that we picked up from the charity shop - thankfully a lot easier to learn than the other two we have played recently!
