Eastern Emergency

A lovely calm day, mostly cloudy but some sunny spells.  Clear, calm and great northern lights tonight.

Up at 5am, and light in the sky. There was notable birds singing all morning, even summer sounding birds.  Early shift in the airport, and smooth flying.  We had one delay with Glasgow at lunchtime.  Popped by Laura's, then Madeline's, on my way home.  Working in the shop this evening.  A busy start, but soon quietened down.  Shame I'm off to bed early, would be great to snap more mirrie dancers photos.  

Our Glasgow flight was delayed at lunchtime, due to an Eastern aircraft breaking down on the runway 09-27.  I never heard what actually happened to the aircraft, but it took a while to sort it before towing it back to the airport.  Eastern staff then went on to check-in.  About 50 men, and only had manual boarding cards and manual bag tags, then their luggage belt broke.  Not their day at all, but we tried to help best we could.  The British Aerospace Jetstream 41 on the runway, Sumburgh Airport.
