Northern Lights

I swapped my photo from my first one of Mums camellia as there was a massive coronal flare yesterday. We got an Aurora alert about 9.00 pm so went out to see if we could catch it through the clouds which we did. It was stunning through the cloud - wonderful diffuse colour with occasional rays. Then the cloud rolled in. 
In other news I spent most of the day at Mum's as she had several things going on so whilst there took the opportunity to get some shots of her beautiful camellia bush. It's covered in bright red blooms at the moment which in the sunlight were just glorious. I had the wrong lens however to get close ups so not as good as hoped. I still quite liked them though.
I also came home to discover to our delight our Batchelor pad pond with its 3 bachelor boys had managed to attract a lady frog overnight and we have loads of frog spawn! Ive put a phot in the extra :)
