Wild Wednesday ...
... Jacobsburg Adventure.
We took advantage of another beautiful spring day today by going to Jacobsburg State Park again. R was able to take the afternoon off from work so we had plenty of time to enjoy ourselves.
We started the adventure by walking to the vernal pool that we had visited two years ago to see if there were any wood frogs in the pool. It's a much longer walk than to the pool we visited on Saturday. Unfortunately, it looks like we were a few days late for the frogs this year. We saw lots of spawn so we know they had been there. We still sat for a little while at the pool to catch our breaths and watch for any movement in the water. There was none ...
After walking back to the car we drove to the same vernal pool as Saturday to see if there were still some wood frogs here. There were a few but not nearly as many as before. My collage is just a few of the many pictures I took today ... including a selfie of Richard and me at the second vernal pool. The equestrians (bottom right pic) were seen on our walk to the first vernal pool. And the downy woodpecker (center right pic) was at the bird blind area we stopped at on our way out of the park. Please take a look full screen.
Even though we didn't see very many wood frogs today we still had a wonderful day. And you couldn't beat the company! ♥♥♥
