Bluebell wood

Volunteering today and because we have had some warmth at last there is lots of sudden growth. So the garden is starting to look nice again. But means that the weeds are also growing.

After finishing in the garden I went for a walk along the trails. Very little bird song in the first part of the trail as there were groups of children, in total 83 well behaved children. But further along than they went, there were lots of songs. I saw a Willow Warbler and Garden warbler. Also saw a swan sleeping on her nest. Some dog violets were flowering as well as some bluebells and marsh marigolds. The comfrey is about to open their flowers and they attract lots of bees.

Came back to the reserve building and set off in the other direction to see if the bluebells were out in the wood. Took camera and got this shot of the bluebells with the occasional whitebell. In the background the wild garlic with its white flowers.
