A wet walk on Walney

Met up with Jenny . It was light drizzle but eased off . I only took one photo as I'd just got the phone.
 Along the distant horizon you can see the wind turbines. There are 87 in total and they cover an area of 145km2 which is equal to 20, 000 football pitches or x10 Windermere  At one point it held the record for the world's largest offshore wind farm .
Each blade is taller than Blackpool Tower (195m)
Apparently it generates enough clean energy to power nearly 1.2 million homes. 
I'm not sure that we get any benefit. It's not reflected in the price we pay for electricity. 

I must say I preferred the view without the turbines but that's the necessary progress of technology .
