A likely story!
Well I am back in my home village again. This building is Gourley's Bar. It's been here for many generations and all within the same family as far as I know. The building added onto it is obviously news, this is where the railway line would have emerged.
I did hear an amusing story, said to be true! When the railway was still in use a train driver popped into Gourleys for a quick pint and unfortunately a couple of carriages on his train became decoupled and they slowly slid downline towards Comber. It apparently caused quite a stink and I don't know what happened to the driver! There may indeed be various variations of this story!
