Wharariki sunset......

My favourite beach on earth......

And today, I managed to be there when the sun set on a beautifully angry sea.

A number of people seemed to have identified it was going to be a goodie. There were just 4 of us on the beach by the time the sun was setting - 3 with cameras and one just sitting and contemplating the beauty.

It's such an amazing beach - vast, wild, rugged, usually windy (it was today), often almost deserted but always beautiful. I simply can't help but photograph it whenever I'm in Golden Bay.
