Casually wandering through WWT Slimbridge...

This Cormorant was perched in a tree so close I could only smile at the wholly inappropriate 840mm max focal length I was carrying... 

The static shots were ok, but if you'll excuse the obvious blurred edges at 1/1250th of a second I prefer this uncropped full frame of it taking off. 

Caught in the light of the late afternoon vernal equinox Sun... who knew they had such green eyes?

In other news I see DPReview, that stalwart of digital photography, is to close as part of Amazon's cutbacks. I didn't even know it was owned by Amazon!
