Oh Dear!

While on the Sounds trip while fishing I looked around to see my carbon fibre rod snapped at the handle due to the drag on the reel having frozen the sinker along with hooks and bait disappeared as whatever took the bait snapped the braided line too which I think was fortunate as I would have lost the lot.
The reel has been sent off to Daiwa in Auckland and I have ordered a section of carbon fibre tube to bond a sleeve over the handle.

The weather today has been as forecast with rough conditions at sea.
