Violet
A grey, but mild Monday - officially the first day of Spring!
I went for a short walk at lunchtime, because rain was forecast for the afternoon. But it never arrived.
All the gardens are beautiful now. Yellow, pink and purple with daffodils, hyacinths, forsythias, the first ornamental cherry blossom, and these tiny, fragrant violets. Soon, the magnolia and cherry blossoms will open, too.
On my walk, I also saw two former gardens getting bulldozed, with concrete pavement stones already waiting to turn them into car parks. That kind of thing never fails to make me sad.
The extra is a wild cherry plum in blossom, which cheered me up again.
