A discovery
Mrs WW's late Uncle Arthur had done art classes as part of his training to be a master painter and decorator in the late 1920's.
Our daughter was going through a box of his art materials when she came across a small dark-wood hand-made box. It had a tiny tarnished brass plaque that was inscribed:
W. ELLA
FECIT
1723
So it is exactly 300 yeas old!
It would be wonderful to know who W Ella was and why he made (Fecit) this box, but Google has its limitations
