Sun trap

This little square in the village has always had a small tree in the middle. It is a sun trap, and it is pleasant to sit on the bench even on a cold sunny day in winter. I believe a rundown house was left to the commune, and it was decided to demolish it to make this space in the heart of the old village. I was surprised two or three years ago to see just a stump left in the middle of the square, but they obviously knew what they were doing with the harsh pruning as new growth has rapidly appeared.
