Lowland Leader D2

Risk, consequences and the art of empowerment.

Today we really focused down into what we mean by leadership, how to use the INSPIRE model and how we need to balance risk against personal growth.

And then we got a real life example, or as we call it in the trade, a teachable moment lol.
Deep in the woods 20ft or so of seemingly unavoidable shin deep mud.
A good reason not to be in shorts and trainers (Lesson for Liam..).
An opportunity to discover that (a) mud washes off, (b) humans don't melt & (c) everything is easier when you support each other.
Or.
An opportunity to learn that you can choose to take your own path, it may well pay off, might seems easier.... But when it goes wrong you'll have to fix it yourself or be able to deal with the consequences (in this case a fast 4ft ski slide down a muddy bank & a full hands and knees deep landing in soft squidgy mud). Fortunately everyone saw the funny side and were very grateful to Lynn for putting on such an excellent demonstration.

12 participants
2 who could pass tomorrow.
2 who really need to work on some stuff.
8 who just need to practice, to get comfortable with their decisions, to trust themselves.
All of whom it was fun to spend time with.
That seems pretty good to me.
