Mothering Sunday
Luke, Meriel and Adam arrived home last night after they had finished watching the rugby at Luke's flat. We had a lovely dinner and caught up on each other's news.
Early this morning Gavin, Luke and Adam left to go play golf. It was thankfully dry and a bright morning. After breakfast, Meriel and I took Xena for a walk, it was so muddy she needed a good wash afterwards.
We then drove to the golf club to join the men for lunch, and for some unknown reason the 10 minute journey turned out to be an hour long with bumper to bumper traffic down the A3 motorway. We got to lunch so late which was a slight problem as they do two sittings for lunch and as we had the earlier one, we had to vacate the table and eat our puddings in the lounge as the table was then needed for the next sitting. The meal was excellent as always, and they also cater well for Meriel's vegan diet.
Gavin took this photo of us in the garden after lunch. You probably have noticed that Adam has a ridiculous mullet haircut, remember this hideous hairstyle from the 80's, well I am told it is back in fashion again, especially amongst the rugby players. He has such lovely hair I wish he would style it normally!
I felt very blessed to have two of my boys with me for Mothering Sunday, as they get busy with their own lives I am very grateful for the time they do spend with us. It's a pity that Tommy was not able to be with us and in the future it is likely that Adam won't be with us as he is very likely moving to the USA when he completes his PhD early next year, for post-doc research.
