Just one of my robins again

I have two robins in the back garden who appear and get very close when I go out to top up the feeders. And there’s one who waits in the front garden - here he is. He keeps more of a careful distance as my little rescue cat comes out into the front garden with me.

My one remaining rescue cat is missing her friend. I had a homecheck yesterday so I could adopt another rescue cat. I was asked what age cat I would like. I said four or younger, to be of a similar age to Pickle. I was then asked how old I was, because cats can live to over 14 years! It seems it would not be good for my new cat if I were to die before the end of her lifetime! So it seems my home checker has given me a sell-by date!

I countered that by saying if I had this second cat and the two bonded, at least they could then be rehomed together after I’ve gone!
