Male Pochard

I took a walk round the Rouken Glen pond this morning hoping that I might catch a glimpse of the Little Grebes ..... no joy there but I did spot a number of male and females Pochards which was a first for me. With his chestnut coloured head this diving duck is quite a beauty.

Fortunately I managed my walk before the rain came on.
Walking by the side of the river is a much nicer walk than up the tarmac path but today I chose the latter because I was sure that the ground in the woodland would be very muddy.
