End of an era…..

Our towns only nightclub is getting demolished to make way for a dementia care home.

This old building could tell a few stories. I first started going in the late 80’s on a Wednesday night (known as boppers night) and was for under 18’s. It was called Melvilles.

It was badly damaged through fire back in the early 90’s and reopened as Zen. It changed names to Club Earth then EHQH before finally closing a number of years ago. It was some sort of church for a bit at the end.

Being the only nightclub in the town, we were there pretty much every Thurs to Sun back in the day. I even worked there behind the bar for a few years.

Sad to see if being demolished, not that I go clubbing now if course but it would have been nice for the young team.

Parkrun tourism this morning at Polkemmet then shopping for essentials before an evening of ten pin bowling with the FiL at Murrayfield (hoping the rugby traffic has disappeared).
