In The City . . . .
The weather forecasters got today wrong, I'm glad to say - a wet, dreary day was predicted, but failed to materialise. Instead it was warm and sunny - perfect for strolling around the Capital with the cameras.
Starting off at Embankment, a Coffee ( from Costa ) and lunch ( from Snax ) was first on the agenda, and we sat in the Victoria Embankment gardens, enjoying the scent of blossom and the feel of sunshine on our faces as we ate . . .
Our stroll took us over to the South Bank via the Golden Jubilee bridge, where we stood and watched the skateboarders. Redevelopment is threatening to eat up this area - I implore anyone reading this to go sign the PETITION - this small, graffiti-plastered area is a mecca for skateboarders, old and young.
As I watched the antics I heard a familiar voice close by - turns out that Dominic Littlewood ( of "Don't get done, get Dom" fame ) was also enjoying the proceedings . . . .
Crossing back over Waterloo Bridge we headed for the Black Friar pub, where a much needed pint of ale was quaffed.
After a quick tube journey to Tower Hill, followed by a walk over Tower Bridge, we arrived back on the South Bank, at the wonderful City Hall. Such is its design, the building looks lopsided - I had real problems getting a good shot, as I couldn't work out what was supposed to be vertical as I peered through the Viewfinder . . . .
