A Lot To Unpack

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Today was about re-establishing some sort of stability after the disastrous events of yesterday.

Caro and I decided to retreat to "Naked and Afraid"* and we watched that pretty much all day. This was interspersed with messages of support from everyone we know. Fazzy called me at one point and I gave her the details. She sympathised but as a fellow "Naked and Afraid" fan I was able to give her some perspective:

"We just watched an episode of Naked and Afraid where a bloke got a leech on his willy. At NO POINT YESTERDAY did I get a leech on MY willy. So, you know."

She understood.

Jefe and Manda also sent supportive messages all day. And today's blip is a Survivor-themed selection of them.

Meanwhile, Ellie was AMAZING. Caro spoke to her for over an hour about the crash and Ellie was full of useful advice, kind words, sympathy and poo jokes. It really raised Caro's spirits and I could sense her Caro bounce coming back.

As for me, I didn't have time to feel sorry for myself. I wanted it to be all about Caro. But it can be difficult sometimes. I'm a much more physically affectionate person than her and even at this difficult time she still shrugged me off and pushed me away.

It made me feel a bit useless.

But as I was unpacking my suitcase I found a little note she had left me before everything went wrong. I guess I was supposed to find it in Dubai or somewhere.

I put it in the extras. I needed you to have read this far to understand why it made me happy.

S.

* For the sake of the Princess, I need to explain that in the show, people are AFRAID while also being NAKED. It's a hard concept to grasp.
