Rain, Rain, Stay a Day

I can't always get what I want.
Or at least what I think I want.
I would prefer a sunny day,
But rain is vital to existence.
So, what do I do when I realize
That the event I don't prefer
Is actually a necessity?
When I can appreciate the benefits
Of the unwelcome happening,
It becomes much easier to accept its presence.
Maybe I'll never prefer the rain,
But at least I can wholeheartedly 
Be grateful when it arrives and stays the day.
