Narcissi Nirvana

Very much a usual Sunday today although we did still manage to fit in a longer run, a couple of pints - our usual post food shop pint at The Horseshoes and then a pint our local, The Chequers, later in the afternoon.
So after our imbibement activities we decided it would be a good idea to go for a little bit of a longer stroll. We were walking the 'long way round' to get back home along the riverbank when in the distance we spotted these yellow splashes of colour and realised that the narcissi must have returned for their Spring flowering. They actually sit slightly further back from the riverbank itself in a small wooded area and you could easily think it was just a few stray plants but when you follow the alternative path through the trees it opens up into a sweeping vista of gloriously sunny blooms (see my main image) - they seemed to stand out even more in today's gloomy light, like tiny fireworks going off. What a wonderful sight! I've included a close-up as an extra.
