Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2023 Thursday — The Wall

Early this afternoon Mr. Fun & I visited "The Wall that Heals" Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica in San Luis Obispo.

We were in Senior High School (SoCal) in the mid-1960s with too many whose names were eventually placed on the wall. One was George Ingalls, who was voted “Mr. Lucky” and graduated 1964.

His mother received George’s Congressional Medal of Honor awarded posthumously after George laid on a grenade that was thrown into the foxhole where he and his buddies were. “Greater love has no one than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends,” John 15:13. George loved Jesus Christ. In Vietnam he was not a victim; he was a victor.

We don’t honor war, but we do honor our warriors who protected our freedoms.

In autumn 1991 we visited the Vietnam Wall in Washington DC, that moment was quite emotional. Today we were caught off guard by the emotion that gripped us.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
