Elephant Seal Beach
Click the magnifying glass just below the photo -- getting a "bigger" look at this is worthwhile.
On California's Central Coast just north of San Simeon is Elephant Seal Beach. I think there are at least a thousand of them resting along the shore.
We drove north from Cayucos to just take a ride and enjoy the scenery. We drove as far as Ragged Point on the south end of the Big Sur Coast, which is about 26 miles from where we started. A lovely resort is found there with a nice restaurant and an outside "fast food" place for lunch or dinner. So we ordered a hamburger and split it . . . definitely delicious.
On the way back to our place, we stopped for a lengthy moment to just take a long look at the "elephants." When the males are present, and they are not currently, the noises they all make is pretty rude and crude.
We've had a fun day.
