A relaxing day

We left at 8.30 for a relaxing few hours on the lake (reservoir). We saw many birds but no firsts for me, apart from the osprey and I was on the wrong side of the boat to photograph it. It was lovely to see so many and no sign of avian flu.

After we got back Linda(USA), Georgina (Australia), Helen (Manchester) and I went to a cookery class. What we made was called papusas. I had to flatten either maize or rice flour then put on cheese, black beans, spinach, garlic and jalapeños and form it into a pouch shape then flatten it. It got put on an oily hot plate and was flipped over to get cooked through. (I wasn’t able to eat any as something I ate yesterday must have been dodgy. Typical, just like in Mexico.)

I thought the bus was taking one of the others to indigo dyeing so I elected to walk back so that Mr C could have his lunch hot. Bad move. It was VERY hot at 1.30 and some of the streets back were steep. Luckily our room has aircon and there’s a swimming pool which I’ll cool off in later.

#3 daughter is on strike so she’s taken the family to our house for a couple of days in the country. The gin might be depleted on our return.
