Inspired by the story of the Canary Girls.

The Canary Girls were British women who worked in the munitions factories during both World Wars manufacturing TNT shells. The nickname arose because repeated exposure to TNT can turn the skin and hair an orange and yellow colour reminiscent of the plumage of a canary. The work was highly dangerous and resulted in some horrific accidents.
It is hoped to build a memorial to these heroes and fund raising includes sale of these yellow poppies.
Is it possible that one day this symbol of bravery could take its place alongside the red poppy?
