Squidbox

The speaker at Torquay Museum Society was Robert Garnham, a comedy performance poet. In 2020 he spent the summer in Brixham learning all about the fishing industry and its effect on the town for a poetry project. Meeting trawlermen, historians and biologists, he created a sequence of poems which came to be known as 'Squidbox'. Robert performed some of these poems and talked about the effect of the fishing industry on the town of Brixham, as well as on himself!. It was a brilliant performance.
