Another Book Club Birthday Party

Hard to believe my friend Diane is 85!  We met when we were involved in our kids' high school and have had lots of adventures on our own ever since.  We celebrated one birthday on a boat going around Cape Horn and sat with mountain gorillas in Uganda another time.   Now living on her own in Port Townsend after losing her husband, son, and 3 siblings, she has an amazing resilience and spirit. Says she’s done grieving.  I’m sure she has much more adventure than I do in her future.   
Our book club hostess had a gorgeous and yummy cake and 6 of us enjoyed each other as well as the luncheon in her lovely apartment in the  retirement home where she moved the beginning of covid so some had not been there yet.
The book …Bone, by Fae Myenne Ng….. learned about the Chinese immigrant situation in San Francisco… one of those books I’d never pick up if someone hadn’t told me to.   I’m glad I read it. will read the next one.
