Hospital of St Cross
This morning, six of us from the local RSPB group went on a birdwatching walk from Winchester along the Itchen Navigation, up St Catherine's Hill, and back via St Cross. As on Sunday, we spied a good number of bird species (32) but not a huge number of individual birds. Highlights were good views of three Mistle Thrushes, a fine Yellowhammer singing his heart out, a pair of Ravens flying overhead and a pair of Bullfinches.
My photo is of the Hospital of St Cross, which contains almshouses for 25 elderly men known as the Brothers. I know I have blipped it at least once before but it looked so splendid in the sunshine today, I couldn't resist.
