Keep the flies out of your Webers - use knickers
D type Jaguar - 3.8 litre probably around 1957-59.
Triple Webers, 250 bhp weighs about 900kg - still good for 150 mph.
No abs, no ESP, no computers, no electronics, just raw engineering.
The knickers were evidently to soak up the petrol that leaked out of the carbs when left in the sun - otherwise it had a tendency to light up when you start it according to the owner.
Sounded priceless when he drove off - would love to hear it in second gear approaching 5500 rpm up a winding hill - probably bring tears to your eyes.
They really don't make them like this anymore, and I doubt they'd know where to start.....
