Brazilian Parliament
Cheating a bit with this one after an exceptionally busy desk-bound, spreadsheet-captivated day. I watched a doc on BBC News featuring former Brazilian footballer Romario, who's now an MP. The thrust of the story was the alleged unpreparedness of Brazil towards World Cup and Olympics. Palpable nonsense of course - barely a major sporting event approaches without a UK TV crew being dispatched to poo-poo and tut-tut. I wonder if similar crews arrived in London pre-Olympics or will in Glasgow pre-Commonwealth.
The pic is a brief snap of the Brazilian Parliament - and an astonishing building it seems. Helps of course if you can have that beautiful Brazilian half-light to show it off at what we can only assume to be its best. I've been to the Scottish Parliament and I like it a lot, and to compare the two would be deconstructing apples v oranges. Not quite a frame of reference then, just seeing another parliament building and admiring. And maybe wondering how it was received, whether there was a furore over cost. No matter, this is a special looking municipal building for all that.
