One Street: Market Square, Shipley #35

I've suffered something of a day from hell today. Suffice to say that I've had no spare time at all and I'm still up against it. Work is really no fun at all at the moment. The weather has been as heavy as the day. Cycling to and from the office I worked up the first serious sweat of the year. That at least felt good!

Thanks for the lovely comments about the boys (young men as was rightly pointed out!) and their cricket game yesterday. It hadn't really dawned on me until someone pointed it out (thank you) just how much their performance mirrored that of the English bowlers in the test match earlier in the day, Roam doing an Anderson with swing, keeping things tight and the pressure on; Forrest doing a Broad and wreaking havoc as they tried to push on against the ball moving off the pitch. It made all those hundreds of hours of practice with them as kids worthwhile!

I'm impressed that all of you out there with no great knowledge of cricket still read through to the end, despite not understanding the jargon. You're all so very lovely. I dearly wish I could respond in kind but, once again, that's not possible right now. So today is another shot from the market, of one of the stall holders with a fascinating array of fine art. Business wasn't brisk but I don't think they have any great expectation of doing any business. I think it's mostly a bit of fun and a chance to meet people. I hope that's the case anyway.
