Wet, wet, wet…

To coin a phrase.

Heavy rain most of the day with the occasional misguided glimpse of sunshine this morning taunting us that it might clear up. It didn’t.

We went to Borrowdale to claim Castle Crag. Huge puddles on the road with streams flowing over the tarmac. Torrential rain when we arrived at the National Trust carpark in Rosthwaitewhile I had a nap in the car listening to the Moody Blues while we waited for it to “clear up”. It didn’t.

We abandoned Castle Crag and drove back to Keswick for a gentle walk along the lakeshore as far as we could go. The rain was kind to us and held off being torrential until we were back at the car.

Tomorrow is another day. Can’t come to the Lakes and complain about the rain!

It is the granddaughter’s 16th birthday today. How did that happen?
