Lightning strike!

This is what a lightning strike can do to your main fuse box. A bolt of lightning hit our neighbour's house - missing him by less than 2 metres, and frying his electrics. Spent most the afternoon replacing the burnt out trip switches and helping him get some lights back - but the strike had also shorted quite a few of the cables in junction boxes ( which, in typical Spanish fashion were just twisted together to join them). Finally got the fridge and lights working and got back home at 8pm to discover that the lightning strike has also taken out our 42" TV and Satellite Receiver! :-(
Luckily we have insurance. Our neighbours can't afford it - "La crisis" is hitting very hard here in Spain. We bought them the new trip switches and some cable today, but there's only so much we can do.
