The Geoneedle
We walked the coast path from Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton and back. Near the start is the Geoneedle, which is at
the most westerly point of the Jurassic Coast, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Orcombe Point offers views over the Exe estuary and out to sea. The Geoneedle is a landmark representing 180 million years of the Earth's history with Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous rock.
On the way back we stopped at Littleham Church. Here you can find Lady Nelson’s tomb. She resided in Exmouth prior to her death in 1831. Extra.
Great walk in murky drizzle.
