Narrabeen

Today we drove an hour from here to visit my sister in law. Bob is one of 7 so it takes a bit of keeping up with all his side of the family. We had a delicious lunch and catch up with her and her husband and our Niece and her 3 boys. We hadn’t met the younger two and they were the loviest friendly kids I’ve met in ages. We had to practice the names of their 8 grandchildren on the drive over there. I had a game of battleships with Marcus 4years old. It was quite funny as he got confused and was bombing his own ships and I had to try to bomb mine. It was on an electronic screen and when it said “your turn” it was in fact upside down. Didn’t matter and I think he was pleased to teach me how to play it (have been playing for about 60 years but don’t tell him that).

Today is Oscar’s 11th birthday  (a coincidence as the OSCARs are on today). We will celebrate with him next weekend when we are home.

I’m reading a few Ann Cleeves books at the moment. Finished The Heron’s Cry yesterday and now am about to start the next.

The top two pictures are from the south side of the Narrabeen Lagoon where the lakes flow into the ocean. To the south is a long sandy beach with golden sand. These pictures were taken at 7.15pm at dusk. I feel very safe wandering around at night here. The lower right photo is in M’s garden. It is called Spanish moss I think and doing very well.

I went to check what the red berries were that caused me discomfort the other day. They were goji berries. The lady in the restaurant said it was probably because I didn’t chew them (it ) up. Who knew?
