Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

During our stroll this morning, Archie enjoyed a sit in amongst the daffodils. He seems to be enjoying the flowery perfume, but I assure you, it’s a scent of a very different nature that he enjoys amongst them.

We did meet a wee schnauzer, Romeo, and we chatted with his mum, who a) admired my hat and knew where I’d bought it, as she has matching mittens and b) admired Archie’s haircut and resolved to consult YouTube and give it a go herself.

JR was busy all day, as usual - gym, supermarket shopping, taking Archie out for a long walk (16, 439 steps).

Of course, I spent much of the afternoon on the sofa. I even refused to see an ex-neighbour who was in town, because he texted his intention of arriving at 3pm. Well, he was supposed to have come in the morning on Saturday then Sunday - when he would have been welcome!

An excellent first half, and it was anybody’s game. But I was dreaming if I thought Scotland could beat the Number One team in the world! But we did stop them from getting a bonus try point, which is a small comfort. Mind you, as my mum was Irish, I’m happy with that result, and I will be cheering them on in the World Cup.
