An adventure...

... inadvertently...

A lovely morning, and we hadn't really looked at the ski map in detail so we ended up taking route 9a from the plateau. It took us down a lovely run to the road... where a series of taxis we're lined up. We hopped in one with 6 others expecting a very short journey to the nearest gondola. Instead we were treated to a tour via the Passo Valparola towards the Cinque Torres and the Lagazuoi cable car. The penny dropped as we got closer - we did this trip from Selva last time we were in the Dolomites, some years ago. The route from the top is the "Hidden Valley" - and gorgeous it is too! At the bottom there is a horse taxi - you are pulled back on long ropes behind the team, and on occasions have to take some nifty avoiding action to miss the horse droppings ;)

An unexpected journey - and all the better for that! We were pretty bemused at first though ;)
